Fastest first successful invasion challenge

In reply #7 of the Best method for getting to the next age? thread, Gilmoy laid down the challenge for the fastest first successful invasion.

What is the lower bound on the turn number of your 1st successful planetary invasion?  A submission consists of two screenshots, showing the turn number, the planet while enemy-held (with your transport within 1 turns' range), and the planet after capture, in the same turn (which means you move your transport manually).  The turn number automatically includes your transport's transit time, so ship speed and proximity to enemy helps.

My contender for the crown:

Beta 1, Terran, 3 Godlike enemies, Medium map size: Turn 85

I managed it by turn 79, Beta 0.42, with the Altarians on a tiny map against the Terrans as beginner. Hey, you didn't specify map size or difficulty parameters, so I'm not sure if it's valid. Even if not, I got some good practice experience.

As you can see I only have my starting planets. I did a small amount of micro so-as not to waste too much research production.

Of course it is valid. The more variations of played race, map sizes, opponents, and difficulty levels the better we get a 'feel' for balancing and pacing.

There has been quite some moaning about the "age" restrictions/limitation on research and warfare. Gilmoy and i simply wanted to see how bad of a road block the age barrier is.

Gilmoy,

maybe we should stop showing these people our research and strategising. Some actually seems to be able to learn from it and apply it successfully in their own games.  Soon they might even start to surpass us: The horror, the horror, the unthinkable unimaginable horror.  |-)

@eviator:

I just had to beat you. And to demonstrate my superiority: i did it with a large margin. :P

But seriously, very well done: with only a population of 35.65 and a minor debt of - i think it says - 63 finishing in turn 79 is not an easy feat.

I had to pull out all the stops. With a population of 109.17 i still ended up with a debt of 128 just to finish ahead of you. I had some bad luck: my survey ship did not find any research accelerators or artifacts. Moved a shipyard next to Altaria to minimize "move"-time, and made all the planets a supporter of it, just to be able to produce the "Cheap Transporter" in time.

Beta 1 [0.42], Iridium, 3 Godlike enemies, Tiny map size: Turn 78
