Extremely low frame rate

Hello everyone.

I have looked on the forums but have not been able to find related posts with much information on them. I have purchased GalCiv 3 several days ago, however have not yet spent much time playing it, in part due to an abysmal frame rate. I have a gaming laptop (and before anyone says "its because you have a laptop", just for comparison my rig runs bf4 at stable 60 frames on 1920x1080 resolution (no AA)). I understand that the game is probably not yet optimised; I have attached several screen shots to illustrate my issue, and would like to know if I am the only one experiencing it.

This is the frame rate i get with the latest gpu drivers and the texture filtering forced to "high performance" via NVidia control panel.

In summary, I would like to know is anyone having a similar issue? Any recommendations?

Some other people with integrated HD 4000 Intel graphics chips (your i7-3630QM is one) combined with a discrete graphics card have experienced problems with performance problems, including frame rate. StarDock has mentioned that they were working with Intel to solve the problem.

I think your best course of action at this point would be to open a ticket with StarDock as described in the "GalCiv III Support FAQ" thread.

Thanks for posting your issue! We are currently working on this issue and hope to have a resolve after reworking the font system. Those fixes will be visible in Beta 2.

Thank you for your replies, the information is reassuring.

I shall make a support ticket with DxDiag,  perhaps it will be of some use.

We had to redo the font system entirely to deal with this. But that work has all been done and Beta2 is using the new system. Please let us know if your frame rate has improved.

After getting the Beta 2 update be sure to set your graphics settings to High Performance mode to get the best performance.
