Compatibility for mobile gamers.

Compatibility for mobile gamers.

Really.

Simplified game, easier AI, less complexity, to be compatible with phones and tablets. Kids mode, a way for children to learn.

Also more women need to play strategy games and not mojung or angry birds in the current market as 4X is widely unknown to people who get their games from the top ten in the app store.

Please put this mode in the game, let children and women learn to love 4X and not candy crush saga and GTA.

While I would love to see a good 4x mobile stratergy game on  android I don't think anything needs dumbing down to do that you just need to respect that the size of such a game would be reduced not necessarily its complexity to fit onto the current generation of mobile hardware. For developers the reason pay to play and casual indie games dominate the market is price point. People tend not to want to pay pc game prices for mobile apps though for a similar quality they would still have similar development costs. Add to that hit and miss nature of the market place and developers like stardock tend to shy away.

While I don't have a smart phone and so don't play mobile games, I really don't see the idea as being feasible. There are just too many limitations for that type of device. The game would need to be scaled back so much that it wouldn't even resemble the original anymore. So why bother even trying? Not everything needs to be cross-platform. These games, and I include GalCiv 2, were meant to be played on a PC and that is where they should stay. By having them on a PC platform, you can add so much more complexity to them that you couldn't possibly recreate the same features on something like a smart phone. They'd end up being so simplified that they wouldn't even be worth playing anymore.

BTW, how's everyone liking the game so far? I pop in from time time to see how things are going, waiting for the final release, and it's been awhile since I've been here. I'm not really interested in a beta version myself, I'd rather wait until it's all polished up. And I'm very much looking forward to that day.
