When was hot-seat multiplayer dropped?

Just looked at the FAQ for this game, and saw that the information stating that hot-seat multiplayer was going to be implemented has changed to state that they're dropping it for lack of interest.

When did this happen?

In any case, glad I didn't end up buying the Founder's edition, as this is 100% a deal breaker for me. Guess I won't be buying GalCiv3 after all, which is too bad since I was really looking forward to the game.

While there was some interest at the beginning ( me included) i thought the stance was it would not be in the game pretty much right from the start

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that a few months ago I looked at the FAQ and it said that they planned to implement hotseat.

Im sure if there is demand for it, it will be implemented in a post production update.  It seems to me like they needed to priorities their time to give us the best initial game possible.  With so many post production pans I cant imagine it never being implemented.

For the record, I do would really like to see hot-seat.  I play the hot-seat in civ5 rather constantly with my friends!

It was mentioned in the first FAQ, then it got dropped around when this Q&A was posted.

While I will still probably buy the guy (although I'll certainly now look for a cheap deal, instead of pre-ordering or buying at full price), no hotseat is a no-buy criterium for a lot of my friends, who still remember very well the many enjoyable hotseat sessions they had with Master of Orion II.
