Will any of this be in diplomacy or are new techs and a spy system going to have to be made.

The answer in a nutshell is absolutely YES it will be in game. I am pretty sure it will be in an expansion following release of the regular full game.

I am assuming and may be wrong but the features you loved in the expacs from Gal Civ II WILL be coming in later expansions after the game releases, Spies, new techs and extra diplomacy trade features.

The want to get the base game fully polished and ready to go with the AI. After that then features like Espionage I believe will be added, albeit after release.

Probably in the first expansion, along with fleet commanders.

It would be nice if someone was spying on you and you could "teach them a lesson" by destroying something then going to the diplo screen and negotiate a end to their spying on you.

DARCA. ;)

No man, get options on what to do with a captured spy:

-attempt to find out who he is working for, success depends on spy stuff and is not guaranteed. ideology affects how "enhanced" your interrogation is.

-tell the person who he is working for or not, both with consequences, with the option to accuse the wrong person if you failed to find out who he works for.

-attempt to turn the spy and turn him into a double agent

-release the spy back to employer as a sign of good will

-keep the spy as a "political prisoner" that you can use as leverage in trade/negotiations. make a few other sources of political prisoners too. can factor into ideology aswell.

-kill the spy. decide what you do with the body, ie plant the body to be found in another civs world, return to owner as a warning, or just airlock it.
