Personalisation of colonies

I've been playing the Rimworld alpha (it's a colony sim) and something I really like about it is this encouragement to personalise the settlement by giving it a name.

Something I would like to see in GC3 at the very least is some sort of event which prompts you to choose a name for a colony - three are randomly chosen and presented, or you can enter your own.  With a toggle in the options for people to turn it off, of course.

And maybe on top of that, some stories from the colonies which have nothing to do with the ideology pyramids but instead address issues like low approval, lack of development, and so on, so you don't forget about them.  Again, this can be toggled off if you prefer not to be nagged by Ben to, for example, put in an order to build a hydroponics farm for Hotaru. :)

There are a lot of polish points that could make this game feel a little less like playing a spreadsheet. You have some good ideas. I think periodic planetary events tied to how you are governing them would be a great addition. I like the idea of tying this into the ideology tree, so the main thing dictating your ideology would be how you run your empire, rather then how you expand your empire. I think it would be fun to deal with workers on factory planets unionizing, or scientists on research planets accidentally creating killer viruses, or whatever.

I think there will be option to rename planet (if is not right now). IMO that's a good idea too hook up certain "random" events to real situation in the colony. It demands job from the writers but idea is good.

There is a button on the "Govern Planet" screen. It is currently enabled.
