One odd ass looking planet.

wow

A planet called Drogo II has mostly land* when looking at it from the map the planet is covered in little tiny hexs, but when looking in the planet viewer the hexs are still visible even instead the hex tiles! Also the polar ice caps and oceans look like land.

I will try to post an image or two of this.

DARCA ;)

I have noticed this terrain twice, I guess it was designed to look like this... weird though

You should only see that on planets with the defense special.

Bonus on the planet is shielded. So I guess its a shield texture overlay. Not a bug?

Given the reactions so far I think it needs to go.

It has to be a bug - the land is water.

The land is blue. That doesn't make it water any more than the sky is water :p

The usable tiles appear to be categorized correctly in that screenshot. The texture overlay is due to the special and shouldn't be related to the color of the planet or its terrain. So unless the planet is visually mismatched in the map vs the planet screen (which isn't clear from the OP since there's no screenshot of the map), it all seems to be working correctly other than the odd color combo.

You can see mountain ranges, so this planet has a truer version of Kentucky blue grass.  I disagree that the hex texture needs to go.  I do think it would look better added to the cloud texture.  That would make it look more like it has a shield around it.

I said the land is water. Not the water is land.

As in, the continents are water. The hexes are on the continents which look to me as water. The whole thing seems inverted to me.

That's just the texture for the "shielded" bonus.

Its still one odd ass looking planet regardless.

I think the idea is that the map is a view of the planet from space. You are looking through he shield that gives it the "shielded" effect, so both the hex texture and the blue tint come from the shield.

Honestly, I hope they implement more odd, alien and strange looking planets. I think it adds some charm and exploration surprises to the game.

Raise your hands for more strange worlds! :)
