Automatic formation of fleets

The automatic formation of fleets is kind of nice--except when I didn't intend it. Had a ship on its way to a distant starport and a constructor whose destination was along that ship's path. On one turn they both ended up in the same hex and I got a fleet.

I'm thinking ships shouldn't automagically fleet together unless their FINAL destination is the same.  And/or maybe don't automatically fleet together combat ships with non-combat ships.

I guess its somewhat unlikely to happen though.

I agree. I'd rather they just stack until I manually create fleets.  maybe 'auto create fleets' could be an on/off setting?

Its absolutely dreadful darling, lets be rid of it.

The auto formation of fleets is ok,  however I would like it to be optional which I do believe it was in Gal Civ Ultimate. Fixing this would likely be under the Polish part of game release Beta.

I actually kind of like it, but it just happened at an unexpected time for me.  If its going to be optional, I'd like to see options more than ON and OFF.  Maybe options to only do it with combat ships or maybe when exiting a planet/starbase/starport.

I agree with the suggestion for making automatic fleet formation optional, as well as for automatic fleet formation to only occur at the final destination rather than when flight paths cross and two ships end up on the same tile in the same turn.

In a similar vein, I would suggest that non-fleeted ships and understrength fleets stacked in the same tile should be treated as a fleet (up to the logistics limit) for the purpose of defending against attacks made by another player, so as to avoid having stacks of 20 individual fighters that take 20 move actions to kill just because they're not in the same fleet.

Optional please.  I wondered what happened to my scout . . . ended up with the survey ship.
