Wormhole to nowhere

During early exploration, my survey ship got sent to the far side of the galaxy.  Well outside the reach of my territory and beyond its normal ship range.

Trying to figure out how to get back home was not intuitive.  Trying to select the ship with left-click and then moving it with right-click to a target outside the destination gave zero feedback.  It just made it seem like the game was broken and I couldn't give commands to that ship.  Until I figured out that I had to send the ship to back inside my borders in order for it to respond.  So there needs to be better feed back that where you are trying to send your ship is not a legal destination.

Also found a possible exploit.  After being ported far away, and telling the ship to auto-explore, it then laid out a multi-turn route back to home.  But since the ship had a valid route, I was able to right-click direct the ship to stop off at an anomaly that was not on the way home.

Really? I remember a window popping up saying something like "you can not travel there." if a target location was outside the ship's range. And if the ship was already outside it's range and a target was inside it's range something like "it will be a long trip. the crew should report to their cryo tubes." --- Actually, I will have to bring the game up again to get the actual text, but you get the idea.

EDIT: When I encountered this and saw no warning I had assumed it was just for lack of time and code yet to be produced at this level.

Might be on purpose, like ST:V

They checked everything out on their way home.

I really hope not. This has been a part of GC from the start. So has been the explanation of anything you tried to do that was "against the rules".
