Constant Crashing

Hey guys,

Sadly I am experiencing constant crashing in Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion. I have tried several installs without any luck. All my drivers are up to date and there are no issues with any other program other than this game. I can't tell you what seems to cause a crash, rather it randomly happens constantly, could be 10mins into a game or an hour. Usually the crashes seem to have something to do with the fmod.dll file.

Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Oh and just incase, my pc specs are as follows

i7-960 @ 4.1ghz

16gb ddr3 ram

GTX 780ti

Why do you think the fmod.dll file is responsible?

During the crashes when it says so and so has an encountered an unexpected error or something it mentions in the more details section that fmod.dll was at fault.

Try verifying steam cache integrity.

Have already tried this in addition to reinstalling.

That's the dll for the sound system. Try updating your sound drivers.

If you run in dev mode, vanilla sins throws all sorts of sound related errors on multistar maps...havent had one cause a crash but might be worth playing in dev mode so you can see what error pops up...

Ok,

I am no longer getting the fmod.dll error. However, I am now getting constant runtime errors. Sadly right now the game is fairly unplayable, as in the autosaves simply don't save often enough in combination with my constant crashing for me to be able to actually progress. Every other program on my computer runs fine with absolutely no issues.

Some more additional information.

I am occasionally getting crashes that don't display any sort of error messages at all, i usually just hear the sound windows makes when something crashes and the game exits. ALso, the game is creating no crash dumps at all in the sins dump folder.

Well, that's pesky. If you look in the directory where Steam installed the game, do you see any .mdmp files there?

Most of my "minidumps" are runtime errors or ctds....you will not get a dump file for those, which is rather unfortunate for the devs...generally though I only get those on ico, not in single player...
