Planet managers

I would like to see an option to have the computer manage selected planets which a general focus indicated by the player.

 

IE:

 

I have 20+ planets and most of them are built up and producing wealth or research for me. I would like to be able to just turn a manager on to do simple things like auto-upgrade buildings, build whatever the most advanced ship I have, ect....even if it was just having the planet focus on something for me (Like $$/Research/population/military/ect...) this way when you go though and are focused on cleaning out a sector you do not need to spend an hour just saying, ok....crappy 4 tile planet (we call it derp),

 

"Derp i know you JUST told me you finished everything i told you to but....dam....just go away and build whatever you like...I don't care, really. You are not close to anything else and honestly, i want to turn my guns on you just to shut you incessant nagging up."

 

two turns pass and I need to talk to Derp again, (can i nuke myself?)

 

 

I am a busy mast of death and I really need someone to govern my crap planets for me.

Yes having governers you can assign a general focus and then leave too it would be very useful in hudge galaxies.

It goes  back to the AIs are not in yet so the computer is real stupid.

True, it would be an adaptation of the normal AI that would be used to do this so if they add the feature it's likley to be once the AI is much more developed.

Judging from the Govern Planet screen, I assume SD has plans for programmable governors (and I very hope so !)

I think they probably will, didn't they have them in a later addition to GC2? Or is that my imagination...wasn't it you could set up some standard build plans and then just assign them to new planets.

I just checked, and yes, you could set up basic build plans. I had never found them in game, I feel dumb...

Well, I really hope you can in GC3, I would also like to see a mass manage option.

 

We already see a fair bit of micro management, IE place factory here and here and then all my corn fields over on this side kinda deals, but it be nice to just say OK! EVERYONE BUILD SHIPS!!!! SERIOUSLY!! WE NEED THEM LIKE NOW!! Without having to go into each planet and build them one by one.
