Mouse Issues

I have played one game of the GCIII Alpha, and have an issue: my wireless mouse will not move the map when I move the cursor to the edges.  I have been using the zoom-in feature to auto focus on the map in order to play the game, plus the double click on the planet ability to navigate, but with a larger map, using the mouse wheel like that would become tedious fast.

I am using the wireless Razor Naga Epic mouse with Windows 8.1.  Do not have a problem with any other game or application with this mouse, ever.  All drivers for hardware and software are updated.  I looked at the game settings to be sure that mouse scrolling was available (it is) and fiddled with the speed settings to see if that had an effect (it didn't).

I will give feedback later on the UI, but for now, this is a major bug in my opinion.

Edge-scrolling is currently bugged and doesn't work.

However, you can scroll the map by either using the cursor-keys, or by clicking and dragging the map.

I think I have the advantage of being used to playing elemental so I've got used to the zoom out zoom back in to a different spot approach of navigating the map which also works in GalCiv3. But yes I think having the edge scroll back would be a good idea.

Is it actually confirmed as a bug or is it just something they haven't implemented at least so far.

Here is what Mormegil said about it:

Edge scrolling is planned, and will be added well before gold.
End of quote

So, I guess I was wrong about it. It's not bugged, but simply not implemented yet.

glad im not the only one that noticed this. i was messing with the edge scroll settings trying to get something working but i guess it was for naught since its not implemented yet.
