Quoting Elfenires, reply 11After the alpha 2 update, when I launch the game it says that my drivers may be too old. I've got switchable graphic cards ( intel and radeon ). I can download drivers only from the HP site ( I've got a pavilion dv7). The newest driver hp gives has been released in 2011.
What prevents you from downloading the drivers from Intel and/or AMD directly?
As a side note, I used to believe that the manufacturer of the computer (HP, IBM/Lenovo, etc.) made upgrades to drivers. I have learned since that such is not the case. I have also learned that the best source for drivers is from the card manufacturers themselves.
There are a few exceptions to this. Special drivers for your specific specialized components. The CPU aka intel graphics driver should be upgraded directly from Intel. That is what I did when I upgrade the driver (I didn't even bother checking with Dell).
If the computer is under warranty and they have the drivers on their site, then just for tech support necessities get it from their site. But out of warranty, keep your own computer working as it should be, update your drivers. (You might be surprised by increased performance)
