Is this game much different to GalCiv2?
I only had a quick look on Steam; this game looks like a prettier GalCiv2. Is that the case? What are the differences, what's removed, what's added?

Generaly speaking, GalcivIII is really just the GalCiv II they always wanted to make now that the have the technology. Apparently, its 1/3 the same, 1/3 improvements, and 1/3 new stuff.
Any idea on the improvements and what's the same etc? I'm trying to work out whether it's worth the $100 price tag.
The only thing is missing for the alpha is attack animations.
All other stuff looks and feels supiriour to GalCiv II. (At least those elements which is in alpha version.)
There's a great deal more missing than just that.

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between GalCiv2 and 3? Like, a list. Even a link to a list?

Only if you want to spend some time playing the (limited) Alpha version and finding bugs. Otherwise, wait for the Beta and spend only $50. I played the Beta for GalCivII, and that was interesting. Fun to see changes made between one game and the next. When I started, I could actually buy a minor character's sole planet! And the weather controller was available for purchase from minor characters. Both of those features disappeared in the final version of the product, which was a good thing. It was also fun when the new tech trees came out for the different races, usually months apart. But you won't find that sort of fun in the Alpha version, the release of which is to find bugs and test gameplay, not have fun. Which actually shows up on an entry screen, just to remind you.
