UI/Button Text Missing

It sounds like it could be the font not being properly installed, maybe?

You could try following these steps, and see if it helps you at all.

Yarlen's fix isn't for the issue I'm having as the install didn't hang, I tried it anyway. Steam validated the local files 100%

I'm running an ATI Radeon HD 6740M with the most up to date drivers. This obscure card seems to be the source of all of my gaming headaches, but it's a laptop so there isn't anything I can do about it.

EDIT: IF ANYONE IS HAVING THIS ISSUE RUNNING AN AMD/ATI UPDATING TO BETA DRIVERS FIXED IT

I'm having the same issue, I've tried running the font installer manually and all that happens is... nothing. I've already tried re-installing, deleting the installer then verifying the game integrity. 

Any help?

Following Fate's advice,  I downloaded a Beta Update from the AMD support page for my ATI Radeon HD 6770M which solved the problem.

Note: This problem did not seem to be related to the text install hang issue as the Steam Installer went through without a problem.

I always assume that with a mobile Radeon I'm going to have issues at launch of a game, I'm just so so so so happy that I managed to get an alpha to work with minimal fucking around! Drivers are your friends diablo!

I have a no text problem to.

I'm having a similar problem.

Most of the text is showing up, but not all of it. For instance, I can see the text that should be there in the screenshot you've taken just fine, but I can't see a great deal of text on the following screens or when I get into a game. My install didn't hang and the only stability issue I've had so far was when the game defaulted to using the integrated graphics chip rather than the graphics card. At the moment, it looks like this:

PC specs: Win 7 64 bit, i7-2630QM @ 2ghz, 8gb ram, Nvidia GT540M.

It's also particularly laggy, but I imagine that's more to do with the fact that it's a very early alpha than anything else. I've run the validate files check, restarted steam and rebotted the computer. No joy so far.

I got same setup (asus k53S) and do not experience your problems. no lag just some initial long loading times.

Try to update graphiccs driver as Fate suggested

Hi guys I've tried updating my drivers to no avail, anymore suggestions?

anybody? I don't usually bump, but I want to play my favorite 4x series.

Did you try searching for any beta or test drivers during the update process? My computer knowledge is limited sorry, but I had some problems in the actual game until I turned bloom off - perhaps if there is a way to adjust the video settings outside of the game in the files that could be a point to look at? I haven't looked and don't know if such a thing exists sorry!

yea I looked for Beta drivers, I use Geforce experiance and the latest driver (with beta drivers checked) is 335.25

bumping one last time since I see that there are developers, if no fix is available I guess I'm soldiering through until a patch.
