Governor's Wheel Adding Up to 101%

I don't know if this is working as intended or just a tooltip problem, but my wheel will occasionally add up to 101%.

Really enjoying the game, by the way. The whole development team deserves a hearty pat on the back for some outstanding work.

Sometimes it adds up to 99% too. I have a feeling this is just a rounding issue, but I do think it should probably be tweaked to prevent showing 99% or 101%.

Also, when you push the red pin to the outer edge of the circle, sometimes it shows -0%.

There appears to be some room for micromanagement. Moving around the tool I can get it to increase some value by one while others are not reduced.

It isn't a good design IMHO when people are forced to do mindless micromanagement so to gain minor benefits (must have on highest diffculties or in multiplayer, even if it's minor).

That's why Civ 4, the most successful one in a series, started to calculate such values with 0.01 precision instead of rounding it.

I for one like the new governor's wheel, it lets me see the tradeoffs I am making visually when I swing into high gear for research on a planet.

I tend to adjust things reasonably often in the mid game where most of the dicey battles occur for me, I find the early game and late game pretty much take care of themselves, you either have too few resources for less than a 1% change to be meaningful, or so many resources, 1% just does not matter much one way or the other.

I do like to simplify controls where I can and I find charts like the new governor's settings wheel help me put my decisions into perspective.

I do see the rounding errors as well, but that is a display issue I am sure, they likely round on screen display up at .5 or greater, so if you hit a spot where you have 2 items at .5 you end up 1% over, and with three at .4 or less the same occurs in the other direction giving you 1% less.

Would it be good idea to have both the governor's wheel and able handle directly the values behind? (sliders?) At least give chance for that way management also.

You are not forced to do that of course, but if you want to make most of course you take that extra research/production/wealth from the system.

Perhaps they add the "grain" in the pie so that you can only move it in increments of +-1. Need to experiment more to see how numbers are affected in the actual outcome. This far only did quick check to see how it worked out.

I also saw that bug.

The wheel is to loose and small, and it doesn't make a sound.

if I could adjust the wheel with simple reliable sliders that would work good like before, or just do the second sentence.

DARCA. ;)
