Look good but why 70-80% processor usage?

Just run the first time and it looks very promising!

 

I noticed that my processor was in use for 70-80% the whole time. Even when nothing happened and it was waiting on me to press the button for the next turn.

It is ofcourse not optimised yet, but I wonder where the cpu power goes to :-)

Or is there a issue with calculating over 200FPS like the early version of Galciv 2?

More or less the same here, two cores at ~100% all the time (Phenom II 965) with the other two about 40%.

EDIT: Forgot to say it looks wonderful.

If they use the same form of AI, the AI actually calculates it's turn during yours. That might explain some of it.

Yeah, GalCiv 2 has an AI intensive option. I use it and my processors don't stop runnin'.

Just for comparison (since this will vary from one processor type to another) I have an i7-4770 (quad CPU, 8 threads) and when the game is idle, or if another app has the focus, the CPU load is all over the spectrum, with some CPU's load going as low as 5% and others running up to 60%. Also, the temperatures of the CPUs are varying from the mid 40s to 60 degrees C. My GPU's usage is running between 55% and 65% and at 68 degrees C (+/-1 degree). I think this looks normal for a processor intense game on my CPU.

Yeah it's in line with what I'd expect from a game like this one.
