Are you forcing the Nvidia card vai the Nvidia Control Panel?

No, how do I do that?

Same issue,  turning off GelUI, Enable Bloom, and Ambient Occlusion options in the Graphics settings removes the white boxes, but leaves no background or other objects aside from the tooltips and side menu.  This is with my graphics card off, using only the integrated graphics. Turning on the card results in immediate crash after the intro movie.

Switched on my graphics card, game loaded and did not crash - however it moved most of the text off-screen.

I  believe one of the things they said was to leave the resolution on the game's default for now.

On a completely unrelated bug, I can no longer run GC3 (crashing on note from devs) so am unable to change the resolution :p

Welcome to my world. Hopefully our stay won't be long.

Odd, using xfired 7950's with latest driver (non-beta), had no problem starting first time.  Took my screen res, 2560x1440 right off the bat, no fiddling.  Turned off bloom, didn't like the effect from any other game.

Oh, win 8.1 64 bit here.

No font issues you should reboot your computer, as this was the same problem as in GalCiv2

@windscion2 your drivers seem really out of date...
