Even more Frogboy feedback

Just a few days to go and Frogboy brings us a few more tidbits in the Founder Vault. A few highlights

* The "This is an Alpha" message is nice. Though for some god forsaken reason, despite a similar even more obnoxious warning, this has not made everyone playing DayZ and Planetary Annihilation any better. One can hope that GalCiv3 fans will heed this warning!

* Some broad talk about how the tech tree. This will likely be a hot topic of debate in the Alpha!

* Apparently according to canon, Class 6-8 planets are the "Northern Michigan" of planet types?!? It wasn't THAT bad when I was there :P

* A final note about 'non hex shaped galaxies' Could lead to some interesting gameplay?

In any case give it a read as we are fast fast approaching the Alpha!

When were you there? When I was there the summer was warm and pleasant (or so I was told. I worked the midnight shift and slept through it that day  ), and the winter had two separate week long stretches of -40 degree cold. Even without calculating wind chill into it.

im not sure i like the comment on squarish shaped galaxies i mean it makes sense to put it into the mini map but why does the mini map need to be square?

from my understanding most galaxies are roughly circular or spiral i could be wrong though

wouldn't this mean that the hex shape is a better fit?

if you're just making it square because the mini map is square and that's the way its always been done; seems like a silly reason to me

From a UI space usage perspective it kinda makes sense. Why have a UI element that has 20-30% 'blank space' in it.

I guess they could make the mini map border thingie adjust to fit the outside of the galaxy. It would look less out of place to have a bit more "background" UI around the outside of the mini map than to have black unusable space inside the mini map.

Exception: I fully expect someone to mod (if it's not available stock) a donut galaxy, with an impassable black hole zone in the center and the actual game play area in an annular area around it.

6-8: Southeastern Michigan :p.

Terraforming is required to fix the potholes on I-96.

You should see the potholes we have here in quebec, I don't think terraforming would be enough. More like project Genesis.

Spent quite a bit of time in Houghton, MI (not much Michigan north of that) and aside from winter lasting for six months, it was quite nice.

Must've been my nono, lol. That bitter, cynical old fool looks sweet and innocent but under that facade lies... A BRUTAL KILLER.

Why would Canadians complain about Beiber? America was kind enough to take him off our hands.

Incidentally - no refunds!

Saw the note about multiplayer in the feedback this time. I hope they're not fixated on multiplayer being tiny deathmatch maps. That is the absolute last thing I want.

Let me play coop with friends on a big map and I'm happy.

I'm in West Michigan and my buddy went to Mich Tech in Hougton, MI. All of Michigan is cold right now, but the UP is pretty hardcore!

I really like that he posts these notes in the vault for us to also read. I can only imagine how nerve recking it is going to be to release this in Alpha and have people think the game isn't up to par, so they spread bad news and the game get bad publicity for it... Only a matter of time until one person does it... :-(

Those notes do help show his vision for the game that he cares about the little details as well! Plus I get to look at pretty new pictures. Does anyone else check this site way too many times a day in hope of new content being added? LOL

:-" Who me? Nah, rarely come here. Just happened to come here now and stumble upon this... yeah, that's right, just now is the first time I've been here in... uh... a loooong time. Yes, a real loooong time.   :)
