Alpha - Best Source for News?

Hi guys,

So massive Gal Civ fan ever since the original and obviously purchased the Founder Elite at the earliest chance I got, but reading around the forums they seem a little quiet so I was wondering if there is somewhere else I should be hanging out and catching up on the latest news?  Especially around when Alpha is coming, that particular snippet of info seems very vague other than Winter

Probably the best place would be GalCiv3 News https://forums.galciv3.com/forum/1059 but don't take that as a copout or any form of sarcasm.

We don't know and it appears that Stardock doesn't either.

They've been pressed for a timeframe and IMO, Paul Boyer said it best in the following article...

http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/galactic-civilizations-iii-preview-64-bits-of-hexes-ideologies-and-more/

The team has a long way to go, and Boyer quoted the familiar “when it’s ready” line when asked about possible release dates for alphas, betas and beyond. “This game has to be perfect,” he says. “We’ve had games in the past where bad things happened because they had to be out a certain time. So this game will be released when it’s done, and we’re going to make sure it’s awesome.” Which means you might want to add a fifth X here for "exhale," as we might be waiting a while.
End of quote

I'd much rather have a polished product later than a buggy pile of code now.

"Patience is a sterling virtue, something I wish I had more of". This is a quote from "Pockets", a character in the movie "Hatari", made in the 1960s, which I can very much relate to. I do wish I was more patient, but under the circumstances, all we can do is wait. I also want it to be good, with a low bug rate, but I wait impatiently for something substantive.

And, yes, this site is the main source of information, including the tabs at the top ("game", "Databanks", "journals").

I suppose when it's actually released we'll see a huge influx of new users using the site/forum and it will be louder. For now we are scrounging for attention/news.
