GalCiv III Founder's Vault!

GalCiv III Founder's Vault!

Greetings!

We've created a special page for GalCiv III founders where we're giving access to GalCiv III related assets!

First up, some pieces from the upcoming GalCiv III soundtrack that is being created by a team-up of the composer for Civilization IV/V and the composer for Galactic Civilizations I/II.

I'm a nub. How do I get most of my Founder stuff. Just got the alpha today since I'm horribly busy, but what about the rest of my cool prizes?
End of LtAnders's quote

Either click on the link in the OP, or click on Game, at the top of the page, and then on Founder's Vault. Both ways lead to the same page. You'll then have to log in again to verify, that you are really a founder. Once that is done, you'll have access to all the goodies in the Vault.

Although, what about the Stellar Folding technology the Terrans could research in TotA? Wouldn't it be sophisticated enough to travel between galaxies? Most importantly because it outright stated that "With infinite energy, one could use Stellar Folding to travel to any point in the galaxy instantaneously."
End of Gaunathor's quote

In theory, maybe, but isn't it a moot point until someone has infinite energy?

Quoting Gaunathor, reply 174
Also, what engine-technology did the Precursor use? It had to be better than Hyperdrive, because, as Tandis explained in the last mission of the TotA-campaign, the Precursor wanted to "deal" with the Andromeda-galaxy in order to prevent it from colliding with ours.
End of Gaunathor's quote

While it's likely that the Arnorian FTL drive was something more advanced then hyperdrive, I think it's possible that they used an entirely different method than normal for intergalactic travel anyway (stable wormholes, maybe?).

That quote was only meant to illustrate, that the Stellar Folder, unlike regular Hyperdrive, is capable of handling infinite speed. Travelling to another galaxy should, therefore, be possible, because you don't need infinite energy for that.

So i just bought this on steam. How do I let my star dock account know to get access to the vault.

When you start up the game for the first time in Steam you'll get a pop-up asking you to register the game with a Stardock account. That's your chance! :)

Would it be possible to make the font for the logo part of the Founders Vault Downloads?

The Founder's Elite edition is going to be, by far, the best deal.  We have planned 2 or 3 major expansions plus god knows how many DLC packs over the next several years.
End of Frogboy's quote

Thanx Frogboy.  This is very good news indeed.  GalCiv II had a very good track record for after-release support, and that is why I was willing to become an elite founder for GalCiv III.

I am hoping for 3 major expansions now when I have elite founder pack . And you guys have engine which can easily scale into the future. Why not make it most awesome TBS ever .

Tis does beg the question of whether there will ever be a GalCiv IV.

We would have kept making GalCiv II updates if we hadn't run out of memory to stuff more stuff into.  Same reason Sins of a Solar Empire 1 won't ever get that fourth race. We're our of memory in 32-bit.

GalCiv III, by contrast, purely talking engine stuff here, supports any resolution that may come up in the future, gets faster as you add more cores to the machine, DirectX 11 (10 also but someday it could just support 11).  And the screens are all made via XML and PNGs so anybody can mod, update, enhance the screens.  And the font system is open type.

And since we don't have to care about retail anymore, we can keep releasing new expansions, DLCs pretty much as long as people want them.
End of Frogboy's quote

All this sound good - very very good.  And I'm hoping there will be lots of opportunities for the Mod community.  I'm also wondering if there will be an international lifetime score ranking like there was in GalCiv II.

We also recently brought Richard Gibbs on board to begin composing themes (Battlestar Galactica).
End of quote

Richard Gibbs did the theme for the new BG.   I like the new BG's theme music, but I absolutely love the original.

Nice to see some more feedback from you Brad. I'm liking what I'm reading so far and excited to see the next iteration of the alpha.

I like the stuff you have for us in the vault. But I wish there were little tidbits put in there more often Frogboy.

Thanks.  Looking forward to it.  Not everyone has time to play in the alpha.

You don't. That's just a Windows thumbnail cache file. It's normally invisible to users and only exists in directories with thumbnails (you know, all of them) as a system file.

Stardock probably have made a minor goof.

Though we have learned that Stardock does, in fact, run some Windows servers. :P

Lucky you! Think you will need a second opinion when you evaluate it? ;)

Will it have bigger map size then tiny and small. Just 1 size bigger would make the game 10x more fun.

Will the founders vault be updated again soon with all the recent updates?  I can't wait for the game, but my time doesn't let me join the Alpha

Allright guys, I'm in!  Brad, I love you, I love your company, and your games.  No other company would get $99 from me like this.  But I trust in Brad and SD!   ^_^

Is the Founder's Vault Dead?

There hasn't been much since the beginning of April and it's now July - over three months.  The Alpha 3 version boast lots of UI additions, but the Founder's Vault remains barren.  Maybe they haven't implemented the 'screenshot' module yet.
