Shipyard designs (and other places)

In GC2 we could "obsolete" ship designs. Unfortunately, if you really wanted to "update" the design and hit the "obsolete" button by accident, there was no way short of reloading a previous save of the game to reclaim the design. There are many other things where being able to reclaim something deleted or "obsoleted" by accident can only be accomplished by a reload. SD, please do all you can reasonably do to make this irritant go away in GC3.

I asked for something like this earlier in another thread. I asked if it were possible to import ships as well. From what I understand, when a new game is made, the game loads all designed ships (at the time the game starts). However, it has no way to load ship designs made after that point.

Likewise, I would like to be able to import ship designs from other civilizations. I might have a good ship design I made for another civ I played during another game. However, because the ship design was made for another civ, that ship design exists only for that civ and therefore I must redesign the ship if I want it for another civ. I also don't usually care about apearances, so I'm fine if the imported ship still has the looks it had for another civ*.

*If appearances and function can be separate and changed independently of each other, then I could swap the appearance while retaining functionality. However, I'm a bit too busy right now to go into details of what I'm thinking.

While we're at it, can we get a way to "obsolete", better yet "hide", specific planet upgrade options while placing structures? Assuming of course planets build in pretty much the same way as GC2. Towards the end of the game you'd steal or buy tech to build a bunch of roughly equivalent buildings and only ever want to build one of them. For example, healing pools and VR centers. Give us the option to move one of them to the "obsolete" page so we don't have to scroll past them every time we build over a newly conquered planet.

If the GC3 planet building scheme doesn't use a similar building system, please disregard this suggestion. And then give us infuriatingly vague clues as to what the new system might be :-"
