When new techs are researched

This is not really game changing in any way.  But in GC2, one thing I always enjoyed about it, was when you researched a new tech, you got that automated guy making wise cracks about it, like "Now the laiens working in our warehouses REALLY are aliens!  Get it?"  That stuff.  Can you make a point of having that included and expanded on, it always cracked me up, the dry/silly humorjust fit into the game so well.  Serious thinking game, that has stuff that still makes you laugh, doesnt get better than that.

THIS IS SETI ALPHA 5!!  As a planet type description in your GC2 manualk  :)

Please stay with that, it was minor, but I loved it!

Seconded. This carried through to Elemental ("a stone the size of Procipinee's ego", Trogg poetry, Mimbly, inexplicable purple ponies...) so assume we'll still get a bit of offbeat humour amidst the space operatics.

Likewise the putdowns in the diplomacy screen. I never get tired of being called 'talking meat' by the Yor, and of course the murder robots from space wouldn't have mastered diplomatic language.

Stardock have always built in a "sense of humour" into the software. It can get overdone and irritating, but Stardock always seem to get the balance right, not over done.

I suspect the programmers also enjoy giving a more human edge to the software - win-win |-)

Good god, I hope they tone DOWN the wise cracks! If I want to hear lines from Monty Python, I'll watch the friggin DVDs.  I'm trying to run a space empire here - I'd like the atmosphere to be a bit more on the serious side.  Like, a lot more serious than the cheese they served up with Galciv 2.  Great game, but the dialogue and tech descriptions just pissed in my immersion corn flakes.

It's the little things that count though and it's the only reason I can read the tech descriptions after so many years of playing the game!

inexplicable purple ponies...
End of MisterAedan's quote

Not inexplicable!  You just have to comb through pages and pages of obscure forum posts to find the reason.  And deal with on rather gruff forum poster...
