Since I'm lazy, I'll simply quote those posts that most closely correspond with my own feelings on the matter:
I didn't mind the humor in GC2, but a little of that goes a long way.
Unless Douglas Adams is writing I would stick to a serious theme.Old McDonald jokes and Snathi kinda take you out of the moment.
In other words, I don't mind the humor -- I even enjoyed it to some extent -- but I do feel it was too much in GalCiv2. The sheer amount of self-referential humor hurt the game's atmosphere/immersion for me.
Not that I would ever advocate it being eliminated entirely, but I do feel Stardock would do well to cut back on it significantly this time around.
I would be quite impressed, if they manage to get Douglas Adams to write the jokes.
