Is there any way to turn off the way the game ends automatically after a certain number of turns has finished or has there been a mod come out that does away with that?
It is easy enough to do yourself.
Find the file called
ElementalDefs.xml (the path for me looks like, C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\FallenEnchantress\data\English)
Make a copy of it and put it in a safe place so your can replace the original later if you want or if something goes wrong.
Open it with an editor (text or xml) and find the line
<TurnLimit>1000</TurnLimit>
Change the number to something ridiculously large (or otherwise to your liking).
(Note the multipliers immediately below for pacing will be applied.)
Settle in for a long game and
