Nested achievements

Solid link between achievements and other game entities

Dear Stardock,

first of all thanks for the quality support you definitely gave to the users with continouous patches and answers to various faq.

Sins it's a sociali-life-killer game of course ;) too good for a game, but I'm one of the fans of evolving storyline and... ok ok I know it's not possible, I already read about it but it may exists a workaround: achievements.

 

As far as I played SOSE achievements are some sort of independent goal: you light it, you've done.

What about if with one of future patches the achievements became linked to some game mechanics or other?

 

Here follows an example: reach that ach and you discover a new system/scenery or you obtain a research plan for some hidden ship or you discover some strange ancient artifact you can use in all of the next scenery and go on.

It'll be a more intense game experience and also without a plot by enhancing achievements you can successfully simulate and evolving history. Also for multiplayer it'll be thrilling: imagine some mega experienced user which should face a fleet with unknow ships obtained in the single player scenario :)

Hmm this sounds like metagame achievements, am I correct?

Personally I feel that sins already has a very big learning curve for new players coming into online play, and this would give a huge advantage to oldschool players IF any military/economic benefits are rewards of these achievements.

If these achievements only affect appearance, perhaps custom looking planets for a HW and such that would be perfectly fine and definately add more to the online community.

Yeah you are right mr. sareth01!

 

Indeed imagine if you've just bought a copy of Trinity, you jump into online game but you miss some ships or weapon or other the coders may think about also, maybe, a new alien race with whom speak!

I'm talking not only of appearance but of a more deep playing experience... some sort of 'leveling' we could imagine. Of course you can enter into multiplayer also with only your brand new corvette but for the big ship you must work on that damn achievements :)

That was a big gain both for learning curve and above all multiplayer with a sort of leveling into battles. As of now single player experience is a little bit repetitve: each scenery starting by the beginning and in each level you could possibly reach all the techs. With a achiewments linked path it could be more intense.

 

PLEASE do that :) I've just installed my Trinity copy also for this year (I do not leave the game on the HD otherwise I'll not play to anything else :) ).
