How would I get a new serial number?

Hello!

First I just wanted to say I love Stardock as a company. Their anti-DRM stance combined with constantly patching and updating their games make them awesome in my book!

You see, until recently I've had a sucky computer. And I mean sucky. It wouldn't run the original Halo CE without lag! I couldn't play any of the games I wanted. However, when something was on sale I would still pick it up, so that one day, far in the future, when I had a computer that didn't suck, I would be ready to play it. That day has finally come!

We'll I installed it an I'm loving single player. My big problem is... I have lost the serial number. I opened it when it was purchased to listen to the music that came with the Game of the Year edition and read the manual, but after years of sitting around and a rather hasty move I seem to have lost it. I'd love to patch up the game and take multiplayer for a spin, but don't know how to get into it. I tried customer support but never got a response back, and so I thought I'd ask here. Is there a way I could purchase a new serial number separately, or hoping against hope, could have another one given?

I have the box sitting in front of me right now. I could even take a picture of it with a note saying whatever to prove that it's mine.

Either way, thank you for a great game, and I hope to continue buying products from Stardock and Ironclad!

E-mail [email protected] explaining your situation. They are the only ones that can get you a new serial.

You'll have to wait for support@stardock to get back to you.  They don't handle these sorts of things over the forums.  It's my understanding that it takes several business days for your ticket to reach the front of the queue, so if you're patient they will get back to you.  Don't send multiple emails; this will move you back to the end of the line!

Obviously your best scenario is if you somehow locate the serial key.  I know in some editions of the game it was stickered on the inside of the case, while in others it was printed on the inside of the manual.  That's the best I can do to help your search, unfortunately.

Another option for you, if things don't pan out, is to pre-order the Rebellion expansion pack.  It's a stand-alone expansion, so you don't need a registered copy of the original game to play it.
