Trinity for free ??

I know this may have been asked before, I just didn't find out.

I bought Sins long time ago. Everytime an expansion was about to be released I was there for the beta, and buying it.

However today, I realize that I have the three versions (sins, entrenchement & diplomacy) but I don't have trinity. As far as I know, trinity doesn't add any content, apart from (if I'm right assuming that it is already released) an optimisation of the memory, which I'd like to have (as it is not really normal that a 2010 game cannot use over 2GB memory).

But I see no reason why I should buy trinity (and pay 30 $) after I spent more than this for the three versions, just to beneficiate of a modification of the memory issue the game has.

So what is the solution ? How can I get this evolution for free (if it is possible) ? Do I have to pay again ?

You already have it.  Trinity is just a package of the three.

Trinity does not have any optimized memory. It has the 2GB problem just like the rest of Sins. And any 32 bit game cannot use over 2GB of memory. They are currently working on a patch (for diplomacy anyways) that will help with the memory issues, but we don't really know many details.

Thank you for the answers. I was kind of worried because a friend of mine is using trinity (but a cracked version) and says it works better thant the original one (that he used to play on but it wasn't in french so he got a french cracked version).

 

Seing that his trinity was working better, I was wondering why my games didn't seem good in comparison..

 

Anyway, let us hope stardock releases the optimisation project quick. Because for now it exists as a good mod on the forum, but that means we can't use another mod at the same time :/

Technically you can try to run another mod with the optimization mod, though of depending on the nature of the mod you might have issues. Worth a shot though, as that's what Sins' fantastic mod staking system is there for.
