Right-click menus are blacked out when transparency is enabled

Like the title says. Right-click menus are just black boxes with no text. Restarting Windowblinds or Windows doesn't help, the error comes back every time, no matter what skin I use.

This is on Windows XP, on Vista it works fine. Anyone else experience this? It's pretty annoying for software I've actually paid for (that doesn't happen often!). The other transparency effects work very well, but I have to disable transparency to see right-click menus.

Are you talking about the menus when you are using Stardock's RightClick menus application, or just normal XP right click menus?

I mean anywhere in XP I right-click (for instance if I right-click on the wallpaper or I right-click a file), I just get a black box instead of the usual menu. Now I have an even weirder phenomenon, which is that all the icons have disappeared from the system tray. HELP.

Please open Windowsblinds and click on About Windowblinds, Copy to Clipboard and paste the information here in a post as I am sure Stardock Support will need it on Monday when they return to work.

Also, are the System tray icons gone in all skins, or just one or two?

Just some skins, right now I switched to Sabetooth and it's working. Thanks for your replies.

OK thanks, Stardock should respond hopefully on Monday, if not you should probably email them directly with all the information at [email protected] so they can open a ticket for you.

Since it is only some skins with the tray icons issue, I would imagine it is a problem with the skin or skins themselves in that the content margins for top and bottom may be too tight.  If you unlock the taskbar and make it taller, do the icons appear?  If they do then that is the problem and you should address the issue to the skins author.

You must uninstall the trial version before installing the pay version. It looks like you may have installed the pay version over top of the trial. If so uninstall ALL > Reboot > reinstall REBOOT BEFORE Running Windowblinds

als, try updating your Windows Experience score

Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 4.6

that's a low score for the graphics card you say you have and the experience score effects how Windowblinds runs

Ahem yes I created that name thinking I'd never have to come and post here

My 8600M GT has never given me any problems, I play Battlefield 2 at max settings and it performs very well, never goes above 65 degrees... oh well, anyway at the moment I don't seem to have problems with starDock Windowblinds... let's hope it lasts.
