Mouse Problems

Hi,

 

I've just downloaded and installed the game, but I can't get it to work. When I start the game I can go through the introduction video and get the main menu and that's as far as I can get because the mouse is not working.

I can see the mouse on the left hand-side of the screen, but it is the standard Windows mouse, not the graphical mouse for the game. When I try to move the mouse to the right it moves a little bit, then jumps back to the left-hand side of the screen. This means I cannot do anything, not even click on the menu items!

What can I do to fix this?

Try running the game in windowed mode, or moving your taskbar to the bottom of the screen.

Thanks, moving the task bar did allow me to at least play the game.

Given that this is not a problem in any other games (Sins, GalGiv, etc.) is this going to be fixed?

Just to add to the "Mouse Problems" when I hold control or shift my mouse gets all "difficult" when trying to select/group units... any idea why?

I've got the same issue also. Alt-tabbing out and back into the game helps. I really hope I don't have to relocate my taskbar to accomodate a single game. I guess I'll start running in a windowed mode until these get fixed.

Another mouse problem I've had is when building improvements to a city. I have the "zoom to build" option off. After I've selected a building and click a patch of land, the map jerks and the building is placed somewhere else. The game could be centering on the city or something, I haven't figured that out yet.

Have the same problem, here.  Every time the game starts my mouse is stuck, all jittery, on the left side of the screen.  If I tab out and then back in, things work fine from then.  Still a pain, though.

We fixed this on the configurations we have here, but you can work around it while we investigate further by using the hardware mouse option. Any information about your mouse/driver may be helpful.

Still having this problem with the 1.06 update.  Mouse is a Logitec M505 and the driver is 4.90.49.0 driver from Logitec.

I have the taskbar on the left side of my screen, but I'm not going to change that.

When I use the "use hardware mouse" option, it works fine for a while.  But sometimes when I load the game up, then the mouse will select something a few centimeters from where the pointer is on the screen.

I switched the setting to use hardware mouse and have the same issue with it not being aligned correctly. It took me 10 minutes to uncheck the use hardware mouse setting and when I finally hit it, the game instantly crashed.
