Please Help, I messed up the skins.

Hi everyone and thanks for the great work you all do, very nice.

I've been using WB for a while now and had the 'good' idea of using the basic editor to change the look, trouble is I made a right b?lls of it and now I'm left with a right mess on every skin, the fonts are all messed up and I have an ugly marble effect as the background in every folder.

I uninstalled WB and Impulse, deleted remnants and cleaned my registry then reinstalled and it's still all messed up .. why they didn't just put a 'reset all to default' is unknown but if you know how then please let me know.

Thanks.

Problem is that you made no backup, and changed the default skins.

Have you deleted all the skins...and did you delete WB from inside Impulse? I hope you saved Aero.

Did you uninstall SKS using Impulse? If your system made a backup of the altered skins you'll have to delete that also.

Why did you uninstall Impulse???

You could always just delete all the skins and reinstall them from the wba's.

okay, it sounds like you made these changes through WB (global settings) and did not use skin studio to do these. I'm not sure that SKS has any global skin settings which leads me to believe these were done in WB.

it looks like all of the textures and colors have a "none" option. the font can be changed back to allow the skin to choose the font and all of the sliders have a middle position, that would essentially be the default position. I don't use these functions but it would seem that you would have to also click on the "apply changes" button for them to take effect?

20/20: just do one change at a time and see how you like that change before initiating another one.

let us know if this works

Thanks everybody, for your info I uninstalled WB and Impulse because I thought that would leave me with a clean install next time around. I reinstalled Impulse and WB (and found 'Fence' which I'm loving) and it still had the same 'errors' - my botched skins.

I edited the skins back to their default again as per @gmc2's reply and everything is great once again, thank you all very much....whilst I have your attention...I used to go to the Wincustomize site to download and buy WB skins; I'd choose 'WindowBlinds' then use the search to look for something 'corporate' or 'white' (I prefer clean style) and I'd see corporate/white WB skins but now it seems to ignore what section I'm in and shows me everything that matches corporate/white..from skins to icons and everything in between...any ideas how I tune the search please?

Thanks again :)
