Identifying Cursor States

Is there some kind of diagram or pictures showing what the various states are in the theme editor?

Some of them are called different names then when I go into my windows mouse folder and I'm not sure how to assign my graphics.

Easiest way is to open an existing cursor set and see what was done there. Note: Some of the states in the editor seem to be redundant.

Thanks for your reply but existing cursors just show the graphic.

It doesn't say what the actual state is.

Standard Select : the main cursor that is used

Help Select: when you mouse over a help button, the help select comes up instead of the main cursor

Working in background: a program, or the pc is working in the background so its busy and cannot respond yet.

Busy: very similar to working in background, but a different animation is always nice and helps.

Precision Select: Precision tool for working

Text Select: text cursor mostly used for forums, explorer windows ect. where you would like to start to type something.

Handwriting: when you are in a pentool area, the handwriting cursor will appear.

Unavailable: when you mouse over something that is not available, the unavailable cursor will appear

North Vertical Resize: when you resize a window up or down, this cursor will appear and is for resizing windows.

South Resize (not needed and not skinned)

West Vertical Resize: when you resize a window left to right, this cursor will appear and is for resizing windows.

East Resize: (not needed and not skinned)

NorthWest Resize: when you resize a window by its diagonal angle this cursor appears

NorthEast Resize: as above.

SouthEast Resize (not needed and not skinned)

SouthWest Resize (not needed and not skinned)

Move: when you double click on an item after resizing it in an art program this cursor will appear.

Alternate select: when you mouse over lists.

Hand: appears when you mouse over certain items and names the hand tool uses

Button: cursor appears when you mouse over and or click a button.

Hope that helps. that is my deffinition of the cursor states. If I am wrong, I dont mind being corrected.

if your still having issues, Eyelene, open up cursor fx,

click on a cursor you like, and click on the yellow pencil icon on the right, this opens up the editor of cursor fx and shows you the states, and what that cursor does ect.
