I used to know a woman who did that.   She'd lived alone, and so she had company for a while, she'd deliberately eff something up and ring around until she found somebody who'd come and fix it for her for free. 

I got the call once, but refused to ever go back when she came on to me and wanted more than her coffee table fixed.
