2 Questions from a noob...

Actually I'm not a noob... had the game and the expansion since the day they came out... but I never have time to play so I've barely scratched the surface.

 

The games seems to complex from a strategic standpoint.  Thus - where can I find a good comprehensive strategy guide?  (without just searching the forums)

Second, I play mostly solo... How do pick maps?  Or just do random mostly?  So many options... it's mind boggling...

Do most people do random maps?  Are there some 'can't miss' maps?  some to avoid?

Check out the stategy section of this forum for any help. There's tons of topics that will help in virtually every situation.

Most people play random, and many of the pre-made maps aren't exactly perfect. There's a Galaxyforge compilation that's worth downloading; it comes with 50 fan-made maps, and all of them are worth playing on. ^_^

Unfortunately, a recent patch just changed a lot and a lot of the guides have yet to be updated.  The fundamentals haven't changed, however, so you can still get the basic idea.

Like its been mentioned here earlier..............the strategy section is the best place to find guides.
