Stuff you'd like to see in the THIRD XPack

XPack is short for eXPansion pACK

This post is about a bunch of stuff for the devs to read, and put in the 3rd expansion. SERIOUSLY DEVS, READ THIS POST!!!!

I'll probably need to say this in the most un-PC way I can think of, without resorting to profanity, so here goes- DEVS, UPDATE THE FREAKING FORGE TOOLS ALREADY!! MODDERS NEED READILY ACCESSIBLE TOOLS, AND FORGE TOOLS IS SOMETHING THAT WAS USED. SO UPDATE IT ALREADY!!!

Now that's out of the way, here's some things I'd like to see-

Some new offensive ships. I'm not talkin' new defense-busters, though the Vasari certainly need a polishin' in that area, but new offensive, multipurpose heavy combat ships. Something like a new, improved, and more heavily armed heavy cruiser. And some new caps would also be cool.

Orbital refinement upgrades for the TEC Starbase. They are the industrial juggernauts. Their starbase should reflect this.

This is a more personal thing, but there REALLY needs to be the capacity to add NEW cap ship names for modders, and not just new ones for the stock races, but new ones for new races that modders come up with. Also, increasing the name limit from 13 to something like 23-26 characters would be very nice. After all, I think that I should be able to rename my Sova carrier that's currently 'TDN Karamazov' to 'The Brothers Karamazov'. If you've never heard of the 2nd term, then Google it.

NEW STRIKECRAFT TYPES- some depth to this to prevent carrier spammers and also add some interesting dogfighting elements to strikecraft-oriented mods. Not sure if others do this, but sometimes I like to zoom in on my SCs and watch 'em dogfight or zoom around filling enemy caps with missiles.

Some defense-buster Vasari cruisers. Their SBs are EXPENSIVE!!. A cheap way out is to simply make the ability cheaper; however it's that expensive because their constructor is also their colony frigate. Some new and improved assault cruisers would also be nice.

Personally, my gameplay style tends to be more militarily oriented. As such, I'd like to see a lot of new ships and defenses and defense-busting gear. Another thing I'd like would be a TEC minelayer. Both the Advent and the Vasari can exert control over neutrals with mines, but the TEC cannot.

Also, some stuff that has been bugging me about the lore-

Why did the Advent decide that when the TEC were embroiled in war with the Vasari was the best time to return? Was it because they thought it would be an EASY CONQUEST perhaps?

And what are the Vasari running from? Will it catch up to them in the 3rd, or possibly 2nd expansion? Where did this uknown enemy come from? If they are explained, will they be introduced as a 4th playable race?

And PLEASE, nerf the Illums a bit. Personally, I think they should lose their voluminous health, and also get a slightly lower damage for their beam weapons. On the flip side, either boost the Vasari's Assailant, or do a beefed-up cruiser version. The TEC are pretty good as is, but some anti-ship capabilities for their Ogrovs would be nice.

     No one seems to have mentioned a starship (well technically all the ships are starships). Just like a starbase, a starship could have alot of things

you could max out and you could spend alot of idling resources on it. Look for my post, "Starbases, what about starships?", I dont want to have to

explain the entire thing again. Things I didnt write on my post that I think of now are... well, this is based on someones idea but they might be built

on a starbase and be called supercapitols. They could be built from starbases only and would be bigger versions of capitol ships. Categories would be

the same, for example, a super Kol class ship. Notice in the game it says "Class" for some ships in the game, namely capitol ships?!" Forshadowing...

Meaning that there are already doing this for next pack? You should only be able to build one though, or maybe one per starbase.

Seems like a balanced game. Someone builds his economy good enough to accomodate one starbase per planet he owns, and uprades them all, then

decides to build a few super capitol ships? Im basically talking about the TEC. I have never won, one game as Advent or Vasari, let alone played them

at all, though I should. Blame it on my Super Slow computer. So I do not really know any strategy for those other than TEC.

    

     I recognize some of the people who replied on my starship post, so they should know all about it. There should also be a friggin upgrade for how

many upgrades you can add to your Starbases. Or at least an upgrade to how many starbases per gravity well, at least for the TEC. Like I said I dont

know strategies for other factions.

 

     What about an ability for the Protev Colony frigate that allows it to INVADE! Your invading force might be destroyed because the population's planet

is too large. So you would build a crap load of them (20-50) depending on how many men you have in each frigate. It could take time the less soldiers

you have and then they might hold the planet hostage against planetary bombardment. Sounds like a good use for the Protev.

    

     My strategy early in the game is to spend money on defenses and economy and fleets, mainly economy, and then spend money on stuff that

doesnt force me to buy fleet supply, which hampers my economy. Our fleet is under attack! Send the Superstardestr... erm... Super Kol!!

     Point is Super Caps would be awesome (and Warships/Protevs). One last suggestion would be that you could make one regular capitol ship in your fleet a super capitol with

a raloz construction frigate, which would show some new transparant parts start forming and building on your ship, which would probably consume the

constructor, or maybe not, depends on the developers.

i commented on ur other post shooter! but yeah, like i said before, starships (if, no, WEN we get them) should be so expensive or time consuming or something so that the most u'd ever build is 2 or 3. we dont want this to be something that u'd normally see in a game. something thats new and slightly terrifying to see urself up against. something that lurks in the shadows and fires out quick bursts of death. ha im getting into this.

hey guys, it seems the forums made TWO versions of the same post (this one), so please don't comment on this one any more. Also, Shooter, I read your post (as you know), and I think it's a great idea, and very similar to one of mine.

The idea- the MSF (Mobile Star Fort), which is essentially a small starbase that is actuall a capital ship.
