Structure Auto-placement?

I just got this game, and it's great. But I'm having a problem.

Whenever I create a structure, it just places it in some random area around my planet. Earlier in the game I was allowed to put in wherever I wanted. But now it just randomly places it, and this is making it difficult to put up a good defense.

Why is it doing this, and how do I fix it?

On the left of the structure list, there are two buttons, top one is structure auto placement, make sure it's off and that should take care of your problems.

Pushing "K" will also toggle between them.

Ya, but useful for putting down defense one at a time, but if you going to put mutliple of something down, it is faster to just allow auto
