Does the beta start Thursday or Friday (Sept 4th or 5th)?

In IRC chat frogboy said they should have the beta build on Thursday.  I asked on a 100% official time and they said at 12 noon EST on Thursday we should be able to get it.

Did he happen to mention how we will be able to get it? Is it through impulse or do we have to download it from some other place?

I am 99% sure it will be only through Impulse.  All of stardock's previous betas have all been distriputed through SDC so I would assume now they will use impulse.

Make that 100%. :)

 

It'll be pretty simple. If you already have the same email address on your forums/Impulse account as you used at the store to preorder, then Demigod should just pop up on the My Games tab once you've been charged. If you don't then you might need to register manually or have support do a merge, so best get it in order ahead of time.

it will suck for the people who got the game as a gift for another person though.  Because the beta info will also go to their e-mail not who is getting the gift.  :hugme:

No solid ETA on when the beta will go up tomorrow.  So if you're thinking of calling in sick to work etc to get a jump on the game, don't.  Go to work, run errands, clean house or whatever other pressing real life things you need to take care of.  The beta will not grow stale and rot away if you download it a few hours later.

I've called off work waiting for a beta to be released before, only to have it not go live until like 8pm, wasting a perfectly good vacation day.

(No, I'm not saying it's going to be out at 8pm.)

lol, i love it, we are like addicts and the game devs need to keep us in line to make sure we don't ruin our lives because of this beta.

If i was a game dev that would be a good feeling to have people react like this, :(O
