Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

Would there be seperatists controlled covenant ships aiding the UNSC?

well the Halos are technically the superwepons and this will just be a slightly stronger than normal captial ship once the research is perchased. I don't know how/if i will do this to the covenant side but thats for later anyways...

As for the separitists, I really don't know what to do with them at the moment so i'm just focusing on the UNSC ships

The Halo superweapon idea could work as such: public superweapon: the ark/the halos. When A halo is set off, it should eliminate everything in a small section of the map enemy or ally. The Halo ring has to be controlled for a set amount of time before it fires. The ark is a bit trickier. First you have to find the derelict key ship, then the portal. Once the portal to the ark is opened, the ark is open to the public. And like the Halo rings, the Ark has to be controlled for a set amount of time. Then ALL the rings are set of destroying everything on the map EXCEPT what's on the Ark. Victory.

This resolves the arguments over superweapons when we get to that point. But it makes another problem: the derelict, portal, and halo rings are open from the second the game begins. This problem is solved by such: late-game research.

Yup you pretty much summerized what i said about them like a page or two ago lol. But i also want to make the humans able to destroy the Halos and idk maybe the resulting blast could have the same effect? I haven't ironed out the kinks all the way concering the Halos.

Would they possibly be considered the pirates than? Or do you have another faction planned for this role?


Well i don't have anything currently planned for the pirates AS OF NOW but i don't think that the separitists would be a goodfit because they are allied with the UNSC. I might take a poll on this later to see what we could do with them

The Separitists could be a seperate fation. Slightly different ships with slightly differnent abilities then the Loyalists. The pirates could either be the rebels that were fought in The Fall of Reach or the Heretics.

I think the game should be set before the games, no seperatists, no halos, just the basic war. And as you progress in your game, you can find the Halo's n whatnot. If you had the add pirates, I'd suggest adding the pirates from Halo. The human empire did have pirates in it, infact the Spartans first mission was to eliminate them if memory serves.

Maybe later on in version two, make the seperatists a researchable for the unsc?

And in the same release maybe a discussion on the forunner? The power cost and so forth can be related to danman's atlantians race.

Wish i new some coding so i could help u out, but i don't think the level of coding id be able to grasp would be 'enough' to seriously help you out.

When I first heard of the game, I thought it would be like a halo type thing. i was wrong. a halo mod would go good with this game. ps suggestions for races Humans, covenant, Flood, Sentinels (pirates). Just a thought.

There is a model for the Pillar of Autumn in the Lightwavegroup forums, by Infinity loop it is very high detail but will need a reskin-this could be the un-upgraded halcyon.

Also for the colony ships, what about a frigate with the booms combined and hangers in that area, with the aux engines removed, making it slow. Also 2 50mm auto cannons. (garda flak frigate like)

Also for an upgrade, the Gettysburg upgrade which gives the unsc covenant speed slipdrives.

Well thats what i was thinking of doing but it seems people really want to have the separitists in it. I'm just letting you guys to know right now that any 3rd race/faction will be a little ways off.

From what I've read, noone really wants the seperatists, they're just throwing out ideas for the pirates. Every post regarding them is allways in regards to "Maybe the seperatists can be the pirates?". But like I said, it'd make more sense to just use the real pirates from Halo lore then things like the Covenant seperatists, after all majority of the game takes place in UNSC space, stands to reason it'd be human pirates that were present.

Sweet! KilllerKid90, how much experience do you have? Also, my old chum for Covenant at War (for EaW) has recently gotten Sins and now is thinking of doing an offshot of his mod for it and i invited him to join this mod. I'm thinking of letting him be lead modeler (he can skin as well :D ) and then I can be a coder/modeler mix. We just might see some rapid progress here people!

All_Under_Heaven, I tried to get your CCS model in-game. Its either not working, or I suck. I'm leaning towards the second. I really don't know what kind of files it'll take, but I'm guessing its the file type thats holding me up if its not my modding skills.

If anyone can find any quick solutions for my perdicament by Friday, that would be much appreciated on my part. Though I am busy at SIHS so don't expect much outta me.
