Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

An update on my games. I'm working on two different Painful Gigantics at the moment. I'm way behind. I had the bad luck of not meeting anyone early in both games. That will put you behind in tech. I also only got 30% in one and 24% in the other in the planet rush. Neither stat is very impressive. And now that the drengin go right for the speed tech's like I used to, my advantage gets negated fast. And the aliens took culture bonuses. Uggh. Not going well. I work on those a few turns at a time hoping down the road to salvage a few points out of em. One I am about 40% through the game (Just wait untill cultural maximizing baby) The other, I'm about 30% through. I got to the tech boosting techs first so even though I am way behind in tech in that one, I think I can pull it out and salvage something. Meanwhile, I have a pretty good winner on my hands I'm playing at the moment. I have the Drengin bottlenecked and I'm using the Bank of the Scottinga's to further my expansion. HEHE. And the Drengin are in fact using my previous tech trees. Good thing I've now changed mine so I have something to trade. HEHE. I depend on trade early. I set 60 ships 40 tech. On Gigantics, I've noticed this only takes one more turn for the ships to get cranking (which seems a pitance) and I have tech to trade so as not to end up completely out of the picture. On the smaller sizes, I definitely go 100% production to start. That one turn can mean tons on a tiny.

I will do some leasing of wonders on the gigantics. But on the smaller ones, I try to avoid it. You can get away with a couple but that's it. Plus, I end up having to rush lease a constructor or two on the smaller size maps. You can totally cripple yourself really fast (and to a lesser extent even on gigantic) with too many leases.

Hopefully I can submit at least one of the two toughies and this game I'm working on by the end of the week. :)

But now the big game lies ahead: a half million. Bonus points if GROSS really leaves the others way behind in the dust like the old Euro and Apolyton empires before the scoring madness. Back then, there was a large gap between second and third, while the two huge empires stood in a class all their own due to sheer size.

Ya know a good trick, Pontius... take her out to a nice big lunch - next thing you know, nappy-nap time. :) She slept long enough for me to get in a small game that finally cracked me into the top 100! (I know, I know - that's not much compared to some of us G.R.O.S.S.ers, but hey, it's good for me.)

Might get one - or maybe two - more games submitted before mid-week when my work will become all-consuming for awhile. Hope to keep playing here & there, and dropping in on Threadzilla to see how we're doing.

Maybe, after "real life" (TM) has returned to normal, I can submit my own nomination for senator - seeing as I'm now at 8 Evil {cackle} wins... woot!

EBZ here. Whew, sorry for not posting much, but the truth is, is that I've been spending most of the day extinguishing the blaze of fire behind me, heh. I'm already at 7th place at the moment, and I think I'll get in one more game before the night comes to a close. Hopefully it'll help set us farther from MWC.

I was in the top 100 for a little while, but I can't play that fast! :sniff!:

Go, go, GROSSers who can play fast and furious. I'll just lend a lot of morale boosting and a little fire support when I can. And I might even lay down enough supressive fire with my usual mischievous ways to keep the other guys occupied. ;)

Well I believe a belated congratulations is due to you pirate folk although it pains me greatly to do so. While we simple hardworking folk in the MWC in no way condone your pirating ways and general evil nature, it seems you have bested us once again in the metaverse. But do not rest on your laurels and kegs of swill too lightly my stinky friends. For we have risen to the challenge once before and as many have discovered in the past, its hard to keep the working class down for long. We have forewarned the uppity wizards to not take us lightly and now we come to you filthy pirates and simply say this....you can rape and pillage our planets but you will never break the earnest hardworking spirit that the MWC was founded upon. We may not have spells as the wizards do, or drop bears and exploding sheep as the wacky ANZACs do, nor do we have your unquenchable taste for swill of the worst kind but we will never surrender or give up and we will always be there like a thorn in your side. Like a hangover from a bad keg of swill you plundered from the Euros. For like all Midwesterners at heart around the Universe, we work hard for our place, we do not steal or conjur our way to the top. Our day will come again despicable space pirates, but until then, enjoy your place atop the metaverse, however rickety it may be.

Well what can I say....to best understand the enemy it is sometimes best to think like the enemy. ;) And besides, the MWC is neither a good nor evil empire, we welcome citizens of all alignments as long as they are committed to working hard and dedicated to the community of the MWC. We do however despise any empire dedicated to being evil or to being goody two shoes, for that matter. Its all about what motivates ya, raping and pillaging or sowing and reaping.

A small, unassuming yellow space dinghy docks with the Survey Ship Doom......

In the GROSS officers mess, the eevil ones are engaged in their weekly tiddlywinks game....

Pontius: [just missing for the seventh time] "God DAMN this blasted game....that Farmer plephart just told me he'd wipe the floor with me at 'winks...I am SO going to OWN that midwestern hick after I get this right..."

Gerakken: "Yes, fearless leader [carefully placing shotgun out of reach]...practice hard, O captain, my captain..."

A tinkling musical sound is heard... not unlike the sound an ice-cream truck makes on its rounds....

EBZM: "Hey - anyone for ice-cream?

"I'll have chocolate!!" yells Gerakken as he races to the door of the mess....and is suddenly blown backwards as the doors explode inwards. Standing in the doorway are two large, yellow bananas, dressed casually in blue and white striped pyjamas. The vision of childhood innocence is complete....except for the AK-47 assault rifles pointing into the room....

B1: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, B2?"
B2: "Yeah. Waste 'em."

Tiddlywinks scatter as the room erupts in gunfire, Gerakken doing his best Jet Li impression as he somersaults backwards over a couch. GROSSlings scatter for the exits, leaving the room a smoking ruin. The Bananas saunter back to their vessel, singing softly:

"Bananas, in pyjamas, are coming down the stairs
Bananas, in pyjamas, are coming down in pairs....."

You can forget about pulling the same stunt at the White Tower though. Or B1 and B2 will grace our tavern tables as banana split ice-cream.
