Empires

I've been perusing the Metaverse and saw the many, many Empires. Some of them had rather impressive scores, some had rather impressive members, some just had a whole lot of members.

So I got to thinking. What is it that the players here look for in an Empire. Is it the nifty name? Cool, eye-catching 32x32 graphic? Quality of member scores? Why even join/create an Empire?

I joined the Gamma Squad empire because of the members (Java Scout, Solitair to name a few...).
It was fun at the beginning but now that the Metaverse scores seemed to be screwed up, that a lot of people can not/no longer submit their scores (I personnaly lost my first 4 games), it is more a nostalgia.

we formed the gammasquad out of some of the original gamma testers. It was / is a group of people pretty much dedicated to helping others. Some of us inhabit the forum, others try to catch certain bugs, and others like me inhabit the chat room #galciv. And quite a few of us helped on on the incredible day in march when the game first came out. Basically it's a bunch of friends who like being together. :-)

Also not many empires can claim 4 ambassadors in the empire :)
