A Painter / PS series: Luminosity

How I arrived at this version of a finished product....

Started with this:

Which is ok and all, but the contrast is really off on this... it is really washed out.... so I had to increase the contrast so it looked like this:

I admit at this stage, it was looking promising... there were highlights which didn't exist in the previous one, but there was more that could be done to it, so we move towards the final step which is this:

The color contrast is very distinctive(and a little psychedelic if I do say so myself), but that comes from using a "difference" filter on the piece. I also tried using a lot of different media on the canvas level beneath the piece to see some of the weird effects I could achieve, and I will post some of those pieces in the near future. Watercolors were the strangest effect of all I have to say however. Enjoy!

Hehe...looks like "fun with filters" to me.  Trust me, you'll get sick of the standard PS filters quickly.

Texas: Thanks!

Karma: Oh, I know all about being sick of the standard filters. But there are times when having one(like Lens Flare) is sometimes handy. I rarely ever use it, but its good knowing that if I really needed it, well, its there.

But I would say it was more a case of using layer adjustment rather than filters in this case.
