Metaverse scores lost after I upgraded to Drengin.net

Last night I installed GalCiv on my desktop computer for the first time (been playing on my laptop). When I registered it in SDC I used my Drengin.net serial rather than the standalone number I had used before.

Tonight, I completed a game and submitted it...

Didn't show. Replayed the end, didn't show. Repeated finishing the game and submitting it only for it not to show about 10X, if not more.

Then an idea hit me, maybe reregistering with the Drengin.net serial had conflicted the data for my Metaverse account. So I clicked on the 'register player', entered the Drengin.net serial, submitted, then went and did the 'finish game, submit' routine again.

It worked, the game showed up, and it erased all of my previous 6 games. If you want to see really screwed up, my empire (Arachnopets) now only shows my old score of 3514 in the main list, but if you click for the details, you get my new score of 7413 - as best I can tell, I will *never* be able to improve the empire's score from this point out unless someone from Stardock can help me correct this problem.

For further screwed up, the metaverse icons associated with my account still show me as having won 5 games, having won 5 games for a total greater than 1000, but I no longer have the bar showwing I've submitted 5 games.

On the bright side, I'm now in the top 25 of the metaverse, but I don't much care about that. I'd much rather have my legitimate score of 6054.99 and be ranked number 30 along with all my games recorded and my empire functioning properly.

Drop an email to [email protected] and let him know what happened. Tell him Brad asked you to email him. This is definitely something that needs looked at.

Thanks, Brad. I sent him an email. I guess I'll be holding off on submitting any more games for the time being until this gets straightened out (hopefully).

I also recently upgraded to Drengin.net (the day the extension was announced.) Now, my metaverse scores aren't being accepted. What should I do? Should I re-register my player with the Drengin.net serial number as the above poster did? Do I need to email the above email or will a fix be announced? Thanks for the reply.

Brian, if you've got the save game, I say wait until this gets resolved before submitting it. Right now the only way to get your score to appear is to re-register that player name on the metaverse with the Drengin.net serial, and my example shows what happens when you do that and submit a new game (:(

I will definitely follow up in this thread as soon as I find out anything.

Just a little *bump* since it's Monday and I'd like to know if I can expect my Metaverse record to be fixed, or just be glad that my sacrifice will serve the future gamers better ;)

Well, I guess there's been some progress, my empire now shows the 7413 score which is better than things were. I'd still love to have my actual seven game record, but I guess I'll have to wait for them to appear, or some sort of an announcement that, "we're sorry, but they is gone..."

At least your scores are being taken. There are a lot of us out here who cannot get any response from the Metaverse score system.
