FAQ: Availability in Europe and elsewhere

Galactic Civilizations should be at most retail outlets in North America on the 26th.

Strategy First, our publisher, is handling the distribution agreements in Europe, Australia, and elsewhere and we don't have precise information on availability there other than "as soon as possible".

Those users who can't wait for local availability can purchase it directly from us. We will ship the CD package anywhere in the world for $10 and you can download the game in the meantime. Shipping to Europe usually only takes 3 to 5 days based on our prior experience.

I don't think it sounds silly. Some games are now released exclusively on a DVD case. I don't like that. There is something about buying a game and having a huge box. I know that you will eventually throw the box away...but it makes one's purchase seem worthwhile. :D

im in Canada and i think the avaibility really sux cause none of my retailers had the game in store have to wait like a week or so... and im in CANADA does the USA boycott us or what i mean wtf. I understand that Strategy Fist has lil or no fund at all but to wait like 2 month after the game is officially releashed is a bit wierd

Hi all. I'm in the UK and have finally bit the bullet (£41.49 with postage - ouch) to order from strategic-plus.co.uk.

They let you pay by various methods, not just mastercard&visa credit cards like other places.

I got a personal (i.e. not computer generated) e-mail a few hours later to say they have sold out but are getting new stock in on Friday.

I'll let you know when it arrives and how good the service is, etc.

I'm starting to get worried, I ordered the CD from Stardock the day the game was released. Still no sign of it yet.

Does it really take 2 weeks to arrive in Australia? :notsure:

I read on a thread somewhere that they will email you once it has been sent. If you haven't received the email...then they haven't sent it.

Game is also out in the Netherlands. You can buy the import version at www.pcmedia.nl

Its a little more expensive, but you dont need the credit card stuff.

I find 74.95€ a bit too much. It'll take a bit more time for me to get that desperate. Anyway, I'm gonna check my local shops again.

Okay.. it's in the Netherlands for € 74.95 (Aarggh that's a lot of money). Normal games at pcmedia are € 46.95. So I'll guess ordering at Stardock or waiting for the non-import would pay off.

Well, strategic-plus delivered it on Saturday, though it's gone to my parents address and I won't be able to play it until I go to visit on Thursday.

PS - NirvanaCN, the link still says £39.99

Mine arrived from Stardock yesterday (UK). We have a 4 day bank holiday this weekend. What can I do to pass those long hours, I wonder? :)

Still, I'm glad I d/l'ed it the other weekend, even if it took forever (56k dialup) (:(

Hello everyone,

After checking the messages on this thread it appears that GalCiv has been released in N.America, Europe and will be available in Oz soon. Are there any dates / info regarding a release elsewhere? I'm in Singapore and none of the dealers here have an ETA on GalCiv (:( I'd rather not order through the net since shipping for my last few games were exorbitant >:(
