Phase Gate Vasari

Has anyone learned how to use the phase gate in Beta 4?

It perhaps should be more of a radial array, since it really isn't a gate, and nothing goes through. It really just manipulates the entire gravwell.
It should also be limited to 1 per system IMO

See if your going to go along with the theory of haveing a stargate; limiting it to one system wouldn't be right. You're suppose to be able to have one per planet at the least.

But that isn't the problem the "phase gate" as there called doesn't work like it should. It feels more like a carpool gate just cause we've got two gates means you can now have the ability to go directly to the other planet in question.

Although even with this current gayness if you speed the time it takes to get across the universe between these two gates i think people including myself wouldn't care about the fact the ships don't really go through the gate(30 to 40 seconds).

uhmmm I meant system as in planetary system.

So Yes one per planet.

its really sucky as it is graphically at least, it just sits there, and no ships actually go THREW it, AND it should be like 5x bigger than its current size...

On that note.. would it be possible to make it so that ships using phase gates jump from gate to gate (or at least from grav well to gate), not from grav well to grav well?

The primary use would be that the Antorak would be able to quickly fly around the defenses of a planet, for instance, and sneak a fleet from behind. Likewise just for moving ships around your space with stationary gates it would make more sense.

But I realize there's probably a fair bit of re-coding of the way jumps work to make that happen.
