"Tactical" Button

I welcome the "tactical" button on the planet list (although it took time to discover it) and associated "tactical map". It makes managing planets and ships so much easier...
Question: why is it only on the planet list? I need it for ships just as badly. Would it be hard to put it on the ship list as well?
The bug with ordering ships in orbit is still not fixed... it's when a ship in orbit can can be sent out there (e.g. by right-clicking on the mini-map), is reported as "going", a blue line appears on the mini-map, - but the ship actually goes nowhere, just sits there indefinitely. And, in the late game, every turn a bunch of ships is built and I have to go through them 1-by-1 and launch them into space before I can command them. That's rather irritating. (Or has tere been a fix or tweak to that that I missed?)
The whole busines of ships being either "in orbit" or in the outer space makes the interface very inconvenient, in my opinion. (If I was designing that - do I dare? - I'd make no distinction between the two, at least form the user interface point of view. The only place when it matters is when a colonizer/transport is being launched. So instead of the "launch" dialog, a "transfer people/troops" dialog. This doalog would only be enabled when the ship is over a planetary system.)
