I experience all the above with both IE7.0 and Firefox2.0

 

When viewing a skin the left bar seems to disappear in FF.

rapidrobot Good catch about the download stats The localhost search issue should be taken care of shortly.

Using FF 2.0.0.1 here, and the option to edit which items appear on the library menu doesn't save. It pops up when I click edit, but after making changes, and clicking save, it doesn't change any of the items on the list.

Don't know if it's already been mentioned, I didn't read through all of this thread, but I just wanted to mention it...

In " My Favorites " I have a few doubles of same skins - when I tick off the items to be deleted and hit ' remove ' they are not deleted.

If you don't mind re-adding them, you should be able to remove the duplicates by selecting both copies and removing, then adding the one again.

Did you test favorites during the beta?  They may hve gotten duplicated then.

If you don't want to try this approach, I'd suggest emailing [email protected] with yoru page URL and the skin IDs that are duplicated.

If you participated in the beta test then theres a good chance that dupers were created. If you let me know what skins have dupes then i can remove them manually.

one more small question. I searched in the forum first, but the only thing that turned up on the subject was from 2004.
Are we going to get back the little "Feature metals" we use to have on the other site for the Featured skins?

Yeah, thats something that we neglected during the preperation for the initial launch. We'll get that back in, rest assured.

Hmm, logging in works fine here, with the info staying etc... thats quite odd, but i seem to recall someone else with that problem as well.  Gef, I think...

Many firefox users are having to clear their Temporary Interenet Files (or cache, whatever Firefox likes to call it), close the browser and come back to the site to resolve layout issues and the like. I would recommend doing the same for your situation cj woodfill.

Your talking about the option in FF that remembers your log in name and password. I noticed that too. Everytime I come to log in after page loads I have to add my email addy to the log in screen but it is remembering the password only. Deleting cookies , cache and even using CC cleaner isnt fixing this bug with FF.

The duplicates are gone now for some reason..not sure when they disappeared ..maybe after cleaning cookies ?

But one thing driving me nuts is when I log in I check my profile page...I check the WC Awards area. When I start out for the day it looks normal like it always did. So this AM I checked - it was fine. Then I went about d/loading and making comments and rating stuff etc. After I was done the wierd " Top 1's " reappear every day. Its like every comment I make adds one more Top 1 . Is this happening to everyone or just a bug with me ?

I'll try that ...before the new site I remember a post by I think Karma Girl when logging into the Stardock site it always said " nickname " and she said at that time to use email addy and I just assumed it was the same this time...off to delete my cookies an cache and try it. Although theres still those 13 top 1's grrrr

The site is very slow!! I have DSL and when I click on a link it takes forever to open it up.

Not sure if this thread is still alive or not, but I've posted these complaints on other threads w/ no response, so...this seems to be a good place for them!

1. No downloads for the day showing (as noted on other posts above)
2. No total comments shown, and especially no new comments being shown...I really miss that.
3. On my personal page, the new look "picked" a favorite skin for me (how nice of it...), which I figured out how to remove, But I can not for the life of me figure out how to add a favorite skin back on my page!

Not sure if it's just me w/ #3 or not, but others have mentioned the first 2 so...

Re: #3: just view the skin you want to add and under the description below where it shows how many comments there are and stuff, there is an Add to Favorites link. The way they have it setup now though is that whatever skin you added last will automatically show up on your profile page as "My Favorite Skin." Somehow the option to add a skin to the favorites list and *not* set it as the displayed Favorite Skin wasn't reintegrated or something.

You can re-add a favorite to have it featured.

Well...I thought you had me in the right direction, but when I click on the "add to favorites" link, it gives a fancy WC HTTP 404 - File not found error...I can download the skin, though, so it DOES exist! I never initially had a "favorite skin", and the one it gave me was not even one I had ever seen, let alone downloaded and assigned as a favorite...hhmmmmm.

IE7 is giving me odd login problems. I go to the forum and I'm logged in ok, I go back to the home page and I'm not logged in:-

It has been running at the same time as this one, and is mostly discussing site loading problems (similar in some ways to the conversation above), usually being associated with the use of Firefox. Frogboy was on that thread and seemed to think it might be a database problem. I keep wondering if it is the site and things they are still working on, or if there are some sort of basic/standard FF settings that should be mentioned (other users mention having no problems with FF).

I love the new layout, seem to find most things I'm looking for without glitches, but have some (random) troubles loading pages (as it seems are many other users).
