Stella Cartiology?

What does this tech actually do? It says it reveals yellow stars on the mini map but after I research it nothing happens. Anyone know?

Stella? Cartiology?

A woman named Stella's heart condition?

Oh... wait... Stellar Cartography. It makes planet 15PQ planets in the mini map a bright white color.

So I guess the whole thing with Stanley and Blanche has been put behind her then? ;)

To answer your question, the yellow stars become a bright white on the mini-map in the corner if you haven't discovered them yet.

i always reckoned stellar cartography should be researched much earlier - like maybe first?

Screw it. The computer already knows where the "good planets" are. I actually use Stellar Cartography, as a method to NOT send my colony ships. You can almost guarantee that the computer has already colonized them.

Yeah thats what I mean... :D I am not noticing them change bright white though, guess I have to look again next time. It would have helped me at the time I researched it though, no doubt.

i know. that's why i reckon that humans would have researched stellar cartography before embarking on colonization - so either make it de facto (ie all 15+ planets show up as white anyway) or make it the first technology to research (so that all 15+ planets show up after turn one). it's gotta be better than the ol' 'save turn one, explore the map, then reload turn one and go direct to planets'technique oft used to circumvent AI advantage, partiucalrly on the smaller maps....

after saving, you could always turn on cheats and do a CTRL-U, map your planets then reload
