Temp Download folder in SDCentral

How come I cannot set my Download folder (Tools > Settings > Advanced) to my system Temp directory? When I browse to C:\Windows\Temp (for example) I get an error that the path is invalid.

I *can* select c:\temp...

andyberry: The system directories are unselectable for security purposes. This was an intentional implementation by the development team.
