Galactic Civilization 3 Crusades Performance

Gal Civ 3 Performance

Hi guys,

Does anyone else have an issue with late game performance on the Crusades expansion (version 3.96). I'm playing on a Gigantic map with 8 players total, gifted difficulty. I'm on turn 472 and the game runs like a dog. It takes around 2 minutes a turn where on the original game turns took seconds. Is this normal for Crusades and is there any way to speed it up?

System spec's are below:

i7 6700K @4Ghz

32GB Ram

Nvidia 1060 6GB

Galactic Civ 3 installed on an SSD.

Great news IMO, I'm still on Crusade myself. Haven't played since winter, but I I'll give it another go when the new dlc is out

I hadn't played it since December 2019, but wanted to pick it up again. It definitely seems that little bit quicker for me, I'll take anything I can get as its my most played game on steam . Can I ask what sort of turn times your used to and what size game, cpu ect.. you have.

Crusades performance was pretty terrible ... the later DLC expansions include some huge performance and gameplay improvements

I have the latest 4.0 patch. Are you saying that 4.0 on the latest Worlds in Crisis DLC will run faster?

I didn't really watch the exact time but playing crusade plus intrigue before 4.0 was sometimes getting painfully slow after the first 100+ turns or so. Now it is much better, and I'm playing a bigger map.

edit, as for specs, I use a 6 core intel i-5, 32 GB RAM, and had played no larger than huge/gigantic regularly.
