Hello, I had a thought regarding civilian movement and the different faction differences and motivations, please note that I am an old player of SOASE who has only played vanilla Sins and the two expansions.

I had a thought regarding the seldom-thought about civilians in the SOASE universe. The fluff for population technology in the research trees implies convincing your people to colonize different planets with technological, and ideological reasons.

My question is since they're back for revenge, why bring hundreds if not thousands of civilians with them into a war zone?

Why colonize planets with valuable Vasari civilians when they could just be left to live aboard space vessels?

Why would the TEC put their own people on a nuked hellhole of a planet?

If the population is, in fact civilians of the colonizing race/faction, why move to a war zone?
